Bhubaneswar: The Central Government has announced that the NEET will be conducted in a computer-based test format from next year as part of efforts to strengthen examination security and improve transparency.
The move is aimed at addressing concerns related to paper leaks, OMR sheet manipulation and broader issues surrounding the integrity of the examination process.
Speaking on the issue, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the National Testing Agency (NTA) is functioning under capable leadership and emphasized the scale of operations handled by the agency.
He stated that the NTA was formed following recommendations linked to the Supreme Court of India and currently conducts examinations for nearly one crore students annually across the country.
Pradhan asserted that the government is committed to ensuring “zero errors” in the functioning of the NTA and improving the credibility and reliability of national-level entrance examinations.
The transition to a computer-based testing system is expected to introduce stronger digital monitoring mechanisms and reduce vulnerabilities associated with physical question papers and manual evaluation processes.
