Odisha Launches ₹40,811 Crore Industrial Push, 59,000 Jobs Expected

Bhubaneswar: In a major boost to Odisha’s industrial growth, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 36 projects across Khordha and Cuttack.

The projects, involving a total investment of ₹40,811 crore, are expected to create over 59,000 employment opportunities in the state.

Of the total, 11 projects were inaugurated and are now operational, while groundwork began for 25 new projects. The investments span sectors such as renewable energy, textiles, food processing, engineering, chemicals, IT hardware, and hospitality.

Major companies involved include Ampin Solar One Private Limited, Page Industries, and the Adani Group, among others.

Officials said the initiative aligns with the state’s “Samrudh Odisha” vision, aimed at accelerating industrialisation, attracting investment, and generating large-scale employment.

Experts believe the entry of large industries will also support local MSMEs and strengthen the overall economic ecosystem in the region.
