Saudi Aramco Extends LPG Export Suspension, Tightening Global Supply

Bhubaneswar: Saudi Aramco is expected to continue its suspension of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) exports into the coming month following significant damage at a key export facility in late February, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The disruption has tightened global LPG supply chains, increasing pressure on importing countries already facing reduced shipments from the Middle East. The supply shock is particularly impacting Asian markets, where demand remains strong and alternative sources are limited.

Industry observers note that the extended suspension could exacerbate price volatility and create short-term supply constraints, especially for countries heavily dependent on Middle Eastern LPG imports, including India.

The development underscores the vulnerability of global energy supply chains to infrastructure disruptions and highlights the need for diversification of supply sources to ensure energy security.
