Bhubaneswar: The Pehalgam terror attack in Kashmir, India was not correctly understood about the sensitivity and why Kashmir is the flash point of terrorism and why this place is the most militarized regions on the planet. When the attack happened it was just like another world news story that appeared on global media. Considering it was a major terrorist attack where 27 innocent, tourists, civilians had died. It should be explored more in-depth by the global media persons. Rather the western media is more interested in issues happening in their part of the world. Their approach of dealing with news and affairs occurring in other parts of the world is less exploring and more of in-out conversations.
So due to the lack of awareness, access or interest, a lot of people could not understand world wide why India immediately pointed finger at Pakistan after the Pehalgam attack. It has been the pattern from the past that the connection between the Pakistani ISI groups and the terrorist attacks always surface post any terror attack. Pakistan continuously denies the accountability then everything settles down after a while. Anyone who has been following the history of Pakistan knows the state sponsored terrorism. It has been seen that the Political leaders and the army chiefs of Pakistan had admitted to this whenever they stepped down from power. Now the sitting Defence Minister of Pakistan, Khawaja Asif has openly accepted that terrorism is part of their statecraft from the very beginning, for three decades.
The particular kind of approach from the global media with regard to Pakistan sponsored terrorism and the attacks India deals with constantly is portrayed in a deviatied manner because of lack of understanding, and access. The lack access majorly comes from the foreign pollicy of India which indicates why should we justify ourselves to the world. India is one of the super powers globally.
Therefore when Donald Trump said to resolve the issue of Kashmir, it is obvious that India would become angry. Because the basic understanding of India is that it is not on the equal footings with Pakistan. Pakistan is a much weaker power than India. So India does not want other super powers tangled up in our backyard. We would like to deal with our issues ourselves. On the other hand Pakistan feels that it is a weaker and smaller nation. Therefore it want great powers like China and America to be tangled up on them. These complexities are not fully understood by the US president to be coming out and talking about Kashmir. Neither the western audience understands it entirely.
When a state like Pakistan which has been in the grey list on the world forum for its state sponsored terrorism, a globally recognized terrorist named Osama-bin -Laden was found there is not held accountable be the west, then it is their foolishness to not understand it now.Terrorism harbored in Pakistan is not just limited to India but it is a global threat and it has been proved in past as well. If is sponsored monetarily by the super powers like China and America, in no time it has the potential to spread all across the globe.
In the whole course of scenario, India has one stand from the very beginning that we are not the aggressor. we do not want war, rather retaliating to the terror threats and attacks we are facing time and again. Terror is the enemy of humanity not just India.
