Third Bhubaneswar Film Festival to Be Held from June 25–28; Expansion Planned from 2027

Bhubaneswar: The third edition of the Bhubaneswar Film Festival (BFF) is set to be held from June 25 to 28 at Jayadev Bhawan, bringing together a diverse selection of acclaimed films from various Indian languages as well as international cinema.

The festival aims to celebrate the art of filmmaking, promote cultural exchange and provide a platform for audiences to experience a wide range of cinematic works from across India and around the world. Film enthusiasts, artists, directors, producers and students are expected to participate in the four-day event.

Announcing the festival schedule, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi highlighted the growing importance of the Bhubaneswar Film Festival in strengthening the state’s cultural landscape and encouraging appreciation of quality cinema.

The Chief Minister also unveiled an ambitious vision for the future of the festival, stating that the government plans to significantly expand the event from 2027 onwards. The proposed expansion is aimed at transforming the festival into a larger cultural and cinematic platform capable of attracting greater national and international participation.

According to the Chief Minister, the enhanced festival will play an important role in showcasing Odisha’s rich heritage, traditions, tourism potential and artistic achievements while also promoting the growth of the state’s film industry. The initiative is expected to create new opportunities for filmmakers, artists and creative professionals while positioning Bhubaneswar as an emerging destination for film and cultural events.

The upcoming edition of the festival will feature screenings of acclaimed films representing different regions, languages and cinematic traditions, offering audiences an opportunity to engage with diverse storytelling styles and perspectives.

With plans for expansion already underway, the Bhubaneswar Film Festival is poised to become a major cultural event that not only celebrates cinema but also serves as a platform for promoting Odisha’s culture, creativity and contribution to the world of filmmaking.
