Bhubaneswar: Hong Kong-based apparel major Epic Group has chosen Odisha for its first manufacturing facility in India, marking a significant boost to the state’s industrial landscape.
The unit will be established at the IDCO Industrial Estate in Khordha and is scheduled to commence operations on April 29. Spread across 40 acres, the project entails an investment of over ₹220 crore.
Once operational, the facility is expected to generate employment for around 6,000 to 7,000 people, providing a major push to local job creation and economic activity.
A key highlight of the project is its sustainability focus, with the unit designed to achieve net positive energy and water usage, aligning with global environmental standards.
Officials said the development reinforces Odisha’s growing appeal as an emerging hub for apparel manufacturing, as the state continues to attract international investors and expand its industrial ecosystem.
